Pushing Daisies “Sounds like you’re a narcoleptic.”
“I suffer from sudden uncontrollable attacks of deep sleep?”
“What’s the other one?”
“Necrophiliac”

Some great news from TV land (of which I am a frequent visitor). Pushing Daisies won its timeslot yesterday with an awesome 9.2/14 rating/share, which was 12.83 million viewers, with big numbers in the key demos. Those are all great numbers, which is awesome because Pushing Daisies is the best new show of the season. Hopefully, those numbers will go up next week as people tell their friends about how awesomely awesome it was. Just like you will do now. NOW.

Great. Now that you’re back, onto some news and comment.

In shocking news, suing your customers costs lots of money. Oh, and you’re stealing if you rip a CD, according to Sony BMG. In case you don’t know, the record labels hate you for wanting to do what you want with your music; DRM is evil. Try AmazonMP3. Or eMusic if you like indie music. Or CC music.

In other news, my Tshirts arrived today :) 1 2 3.

So it seems that Microsoft is coming out with the Zune2 (my moniker, not theirs). Gruber’s got some comments, as always. The first was by almost all counts a giant flop, though that’s hardly a reason to stop trying. But it seems they haven’t dealt with many of the major-er issues, like most of the uselessness of the WiFi (though syncing is a step up) and the idiocy of the 3-Plays-or-3-Days policy. And as if people didn’t have enough fun with the term “squirting,” they’re introducing us to the “squircle.”

And a quote: Microsoft should switch to the vacuum cleaner business where people actually want products that suck. — Bruno Bratti [via]

It’s sad to hear that Amber’s leaving Net@Night. It truly was one of my favorite TWiT shows, though I really have a hard time picking my favorite.

Update: As I write this, I checked in at the TWiT forum, and it seems that Amber has decided to un-quit (though that makes it sound like it was much worse than I’m sure it was). However, I’ll still post my thoughts.

I really think someone needs to give Merlin Mann an hour long show. MBW is by far my favorite show, and not for the Mac talk (though I do love that). Merlin’s ratholes and pop-culture comments keep me laughing the whole time. From his Kung Fu Grippe tumblog, it’s clear he’s got enough to fill an hour a week. Though this may have to wait, what with the baby on its way. Congrats to the soon-to-be parents.

iPod 5G BlackIn other news, for the first time since I got my 5G iPod nearly 2 years ago, I managed to run down the battery. It’s quite due to the fact that I didn’t charge it last night after listening to it as I worked on an assignment, then kept it playing through the whole 2 hour bus ride (which I slept thorough), the subway ride home and then all the way to campus for class (plus most of my 1 hour break). Not bad for the little bugger. Now I just have to wait for Rogers to come out with the iPhone before I can replace this. I’m not gonna let mine get bricked.

Whew. Blogging is hard work.
